Secular shmecular.

Hello. I'm agnostic. It's ok. I won't bite you. I respect your beliefs and hope that they serve a positive role in your life. When people talk about how the country is being undermined by those of us who are trying to remove mentions of god, I kinda get miffed. I could rely on the standard; what if the money said "In Buddha We Trust" would you feel excluded? But I'm going to put it like this. Yes, we live in a country founded on religious values. But I consider the religious heritage not that different from the racist heritage. Just like modern citizens are used to white privilege and take it for granted, the also enjoy religious privilege. Enough is enough.

I remember the moment I realized organized religion was sketchy. I was 8 or 9.

My mother had just confessed that Santa Claus wasn't real, and the dominos started to fall in my mind:

"So, is the Easter Bunny real?"

"No."

"How about the Tooth Fairy?"

"No."

"What about Jesus? Is he real?"

"Oh yeah. He's real."

Then I proceeded to give my mom this look that said 'F*ck me once, your fault. F*ck me twice.."

It was then that I realized that religion is just like Santa Claus, except where noone ever lets the adults in on the gag.

Crusader against "SP's" and defender against the 'War on Christmas', Bill O'Reilly was reminded of his true passion yesterday, when a caller praised a new program to help the kids..

I bet his old buddy Jack is bowling over with laughter..
