Things have gotten so bad that it's given rise to a unique type of voter that I call the 'sparkplug' voter. This would be a southern, midwestern or otherwise traditionally 'red' voter who is actually feeling so desperate about the current state of things, that even they are willing to give the kid a shot.

Shall we play a game?

I watched War Games recently and caught something I didn't realize when I was younger. Nobody is at any risk of any actual danger at any time in the entire movie. Unless Dr. Falken accidentally decapitated Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy with his helicopter's rotor, nobody was in any immediate danger throughout the entire film.

I guess that also plays along with things right now, or at least the fake threat of terrorism.

Robots are everywhere, and they eat old people's medicine for fuel.
