Don't bite the hand that gives you face-time..

Although uncoroborated at this time, Bill O'Reilly is reporting that all press were blocked from Obama's celebrity fundraiser event last night. It reminds me of someday past, when another up-and-comer of a presidential candidate made the mistake of miffing the media:

The day actually started badly for Howard Dean. After inviting himself to a Martin Luther King celebration in Iowa, he was overcome by hordes of media (his campaign itinerary had promoted it) and left in embarrassment after 5 minutes. Upon getting on his bus, he yelled out to the press: "You know why I wasn't able to attend this event, because you guys are behaving so badly you've got to get a new life."

People seem to recall the 'I Have a Scream' speech as the down-turn for Dean's campaign. But in my opinion, the mockery was merely revenge for the diss he dished out to the media-folk on MLK day.

What's the moral of the story? Right or left, don't vex the press, because they will turn on you in a second.

Lucky for Obama, it seems noone other than O'Reilly is openly whining about the cock-block that occurred last night.. and all the focus seems to be on the Clinton-bashing perpetrated by the event host, David Geffen.

But my advice to Obama is he needs to factor press-presence into anything he does. Consider the media like the Driver Ed instructor that can hit the brakes at any moment if you make a wrong move. Don't piss them off..
